Hey Guys!

Every few months I make a post talking about all the upcoming book releases over the next three months that I am excited for. Basically a highly anticipated releases post. Well, today it is time for another one. I swear, there are so many incredible books coming out over the next couple of months that I want to get my hands on so badly. I am so excited! So let’s do this! (these are all releases between 1st of October and 30th of December)

The Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke  – October 4th

They called us the Mercies, or sometimes the Boneless Mercies. They said we were shadows, ghosts, and if you touched our skin we dissolved into smoke …

Frey, Ovie, Juniper, and Runa are Boneless Mercies – death-traders, hired to kill quickly, quietly and mercifully. It is a job for women, and women only. Men will not do this sad, dark work.

Frey has no family, no home, no fortune, and yet her blood sings a song of glory. So when she hears of a monster slaughtering men, women, and children in a northern jarldom, she decides this the Mercies’ one chance to change their fate.

But glory comes at a price …

I am very intruiged by this book. I have seen a few people talking about it online and it just really intruiges me. It sounds a bit like Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. I have never read one of Tucholke’s books, although I have read two anothogies that she was involved in and I remember I liked one, but not the other. So I am intruged to see what this book is going to be like…

Spellslinger 4: Soulbinder by Sebastien De Castell  – October 4th

Kellen and his murderous squirrel cat, Reichis, are on their own. They’ve heard rumour of a mythical monastery, known as the Ebony Abbey. It’s a place that outsiders can never find – but Kellen is getting desperate. He’s been told that the monks inside the Ebony Abbey know more about the Shadowblack than anyone else – and that they even know how to cure it.

Then Kellen and Reichis are separated and for the first time, Kellen must face the world alone – and venture deeper into shadow magic than he ever knew he could.

This is the fourth book in the Spellslinger series and I am so excited for it! I recently read the third book and I really, really enjoyed it. it has made me just that much more excited for Soulbinder!

Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand  – October 4th

Who are the Sawkill Girls?

Marion: The newbie. Awkward and plain, steady and dependable. Weighed down by tragedy and hungry for love she’s sure she’ll never find.

Zoey: The pariah. Luckless and lonely, hurting but hiding it. Aching with grief and dreaming of vanished girls. Maybe she’s broken—or maybe everyone else is.

Val: The queen bee. Gorgeous and privileged, ruthless and regal. Words like silk and eyes like knives; a heart made of secrets and a mouth full of lies.

Their stories come together on the island of Sawkill Rock, where gleaming horses graze in rolling pastures and cold waves crash against black cliffs. Where kids whisper the legend of an insidious monster at parties and around campfires. Where girls have been disappearing for decades, stolen away by a ravenous evil no one has dared to fight…until now.

This book has been getting a lot of hype recently and I am really intrigued by it. It sounds really intresting and I am really excited to read it.

What If It’s Us by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli – October 18th

Meet Arthur and Ben.

ARTHUR is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it.

BEN thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.

But when the boys have a chance meeting at the post office, they leave wondering what exactly the universe does have in store for them.

What if – in a city of eight million people – they can’t find each other again?

What if they do … and then can’t nail a first date even after three do-overs?

What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work and Ben doesn’t try hard enough?

What if life really isn’t like a Broadway play?

But what if it is?

WHAT IF IT’S US

This is one of my most highly anticipated releases of the whole year. I mean, it Becky Albertalli AND Adam Silvera! How can I not be excited for it!

Father Christmas and Me by Matt Haig – October 18th

Let the battle for Christmas begin . . .

Amelia lives in the magical town of Elfhelm, newly adopted by Father Christmas and Mary Christmas. When the very jealous Easter Bunny launches an attack to ruin Christmas, it’s up to Amelia, her family and the elves to fight off the forces of evil.

But can they keep Christmas alive?

This is the third and final instalment in the Father Christmas trilogy. I have read one of these books each year at Christmas for the last couple of years and I am intrigued to see where this book goes. If you want a nice Christmas themed children’s book, give this one a go.

Wundersmith: The Calling Of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend  – October 30th

Imagination, discovery and friendship await Morrigan Crow when she escapes her deadly curse and joins the Wundrous Society. It promises her protection and belonging for life – but then Morrigan doesn’t receive the welcome she hoped for…

Morrigan is a much-feared Wundersmith. So, instead of the Society helping Morrigan to embrace her power, she is only taught that all Wundersmiths are evil and she must suppress her mysterious ability at all costs.

To make things worse, Nevermoor is quickly turning from a place of safety into one of danger. Society members are going missing, someone is blackmailing Morrigan’s new friends, turning them against her. And Ezra Squall, the evillest man who ever lived, is determined to lure Morrigan from the Society by promising to reveal the true nature of the Wunder that calls to her, which is becoming ever harder to resist…

Has Morrigan’s dream of escaping her cursed life ended before it truly began?

This is the second instalment in the Trials Of Morrigan Crow series. I didn’t love the first book but I enjoyed it enough to give this second book a go. I hope that I enjoy it a bit more then I did the first book

The second installment of the graphic novel adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s bestselling fantasy series The Mortal Instruments!

Having her best friend, Simon, kidnapped and being attacked by the vampires already seemed too much for Clary to handle. But when she realizes her hidden power and that leads her to what she has been searching for, the truth exposed might be something that she absolutely cannot accept…

Cassandra Jean’s fluid art brings this second volume to life, packed with action and drama, and of course, never-seen-before scenes!

It’s the second part of the graphic novel for City of Bones. Need I say more?

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – The Original Screenplay by JK Rowling  – November 16th

At the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured in New York with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escapes custody and sets about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt, his former Hogwarts student, who agrees to help once again, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world. This second original screenplay from J.K. Rowling, illustrated with stunning line art from MinaLima, expands on earlier events that helped shaped the wizarding world, with some surprising nods to the Harry Potter stories that will delight fans of both the books and films

Obviously, I am also very excited to watch the film, but I also really want to read the screenplay (after watching the film). I read ‘Fantastic Beasts’ shortly after watching the film and liked seeing how many little things I hadn’t picked up while watching the film, so I am excited to do it again.

Queen Of Air And Darkness by Cassandra Clare  – December 4th

Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the disease that is destroying the race of warlocks. Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find in the Courts is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined. Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of Shadowhunters before the deadly power of the parabatai curse destroys them and everyone they love.

This is the final instalment in the Dark Artifices series by Cassandra Clare. I have read the previous two books this year and I am really excited to finish this trilogy. I just love Cassandra Clare and her stories.

Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West – December 18th

What do you do when you’ve fallen for your best friend? Funny and romantic, this effervescent story about family, friendship, and finding yourself is perfect for fans of Sarah Dessen and Jenny Han.

Seventeen-year-old Abby Turner’s summer isn’t going the way she’d planned. She has a not-so-secret but definitely unrequited crush on her best friend, Cooper. She hasn’t been able to manage her mother’s growing issues with anxiety. And now she’s been rejected from an art show because her work “has no heart.” So when she gets another opportunity to show her paintings, Abby isn’t going to take any chances.

Which is where the list comes in.

Abby gives herself one month to do ten things, ranging from face a fear (#3) to learn a stranger’s story (#5) to fall in love (#8). She knows that if she can complete the list, she’ll become the kind of artist she’s always dreamed of being.

But as the deadline approaches, Abby realizes that getting through the list isn’t as straightforward as it seems . . . and that maybe–just maybe–she can’t change her art if she isn’t first willing to change herself.

I have only read one of Kassie West’s books (By Your Side) and I did really enjoy it. And this is the book of hers that really intrigues me. I am really excited to read this book. I know that it has had some really good reviews.

And those are all of my most highly anticipated book releases for the rest of 2018! There are some really, really, really, incredible books coming out over the next couple of months. I cannot wait to read these books! What books are you excited for? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again very soon.
