Well, today it is time for another one. I swear, there are so many incredible books coming out over the next couple of months that I want to badly. I am so excited! So let’s dot this! (these are all releases between 1st of July and 30th of September)

More Happy Then Not by Adam Silvera – 12th July

In his twisty, gritty, profoundly moving New York Times bestselling-debut, Adam Silvera brings to life a charged, dangerous near-future summer in the Bronx.

In the months after his father’s suicide, it’s been tough for sixteen-year-old Aaron Soto to find happiness but with the support of his girlfriend Genevieve, he’s slowly remembering what that might feel like. When Genevieve leaves for a couple of weeks, Aaron starts hanging out with a new guy, Thomas. Aaron’s friends notices, and they’re not exactly thrilled. But Aaron can’t deny the happiness Thomas brings or how Thomas makes him feel safe from himself.

Since Aaron can’t stay away from Thomas or turn off his newfound feelings for him, he considers turning to the Leteo Institute’s revolutionary memory-alteration procedure to straighten himself out, even if it means forgetting who he truly is…

Okay, so this one isn’t technically a new release but it is being rereleased in the UK with a new cover that is absolutely beautiful. And since I have yet to get myself a copy of this book, I am waiting till the pretty new cover is out. I love the sound of this book and have been wanting to pick it up for a few years now.

Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J Maas – 9th August

When the Bat’s away, the Cat will play. It’s time to see how many lives this cat really has. . .

Two years after escaping Gotham City’s slums, Selina Kyle returns as the mysterious and wealthy Holly Vanderhees. She quickly discovers that with Batman off on a vital mission, Batwing is left to hold back the tide of notorious criminals. Gotham City is ripe for the taking.

Meanwhile, Luke Fox wants to prove he has what it takes to help people in his role as Batwing. He targets a new thief on the prowl who seems cleverer than most. She has teamed up with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, and together they are wreaking havoc. This Catwoman may be Batwing’s undoing.

In this third DC Icons book–following Leigh Bardugo’s Wonder Woman: Warbringer and Marie Lu’s Batman: Nightwalker–Selina is playing a desperate game of cat and mouse, forming unexpected friendships and entangling herself with Batwing by night and her devilishly handsome neighbor Luke Fox by day. But with a dangerous threat from the past on her tail, will she be able to pull off the heist that’s closest to her heart?

This is the next instalment in the DC Ledgends series and I am just really excited for it. I think that this one is going to be really good. first, because tis Sarah J Maas writing it but also because Catwoman is such a great character. I am really intrigued to see what Maas does with this story, fingers crossed it is better then Batman Nightwalker.

Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes? By Holly Bourne – 9th August

Welcome to Camp Reset, a summer camp with a difference.

A place offering a shot at “normality” for Olive, a girl on the edge, and for her new friends, who are all dealing with their own battles.

But as Olive settles in, she starts to wonder – maybe it’s this messed up world that needs fixing, and not them. And so she comes up with a plan. Because together, snowflakes can form avalanches…

A trailblazing and painfully honest novel about mental health, friendship and making this crazy world a kinder place.

I recently read one of Bourne’s books for the first time and fell in love with her writing. She is so British and I love it. I own a few of her books but I think that this new one is the one that I am most interested in picking up. it just sounds brilliant, with its mental health rep and intriguing sounding characters. I can’t wait to pick this one up.

Sometime After Midnight by L Phillips – 13th August

In a dingy Los Angeles club late one night, Cameron and Nate meet and find they have much more in common than their love of an obscure indie band. But when Nate learns that Cameron is the heir to a record label, the very one that destroyed his father’s life, he runs away as fast as he can. The only evidence of their brief but intense connection is a blurry photo Cameron snaps of Nate’s Sharpie-decorated Chuck Taylors as he flees. Considering that Cameron is a real life Prince Charming – he’s handsome, famous, and rich – it’s only fitting that he sets out to find the owner of the Sharpied shoes. Cameron’s twin sister, a model and socialite, posts the picture of Nate’s shoes on Instagram to her legions of fans with the caption, “Anyone know the gorgeous owner of these shoes? My hottie brother is looking for him.” The internet just about breaks with the news of a modern fairy tale and the two become entwined in each other’s lives in this sparkling story about the power of music, the demons that haunt us, and the flutterings of first real love.

I stumbled across this one recently on goodreads and instantly found myself intrigued by it. it is as simple as that. I think that this sounds like it could be incredible, so I want to read it and I am sad that I have got to wait until august to do that.

City Of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab – 28th August

Ever since Cass almost drowned (okay, she did drown, but she doesn’t like to think about it), she can pull back the Veil that separates the living from the dead . . . and enter the world of spirits. Her best friend is even a ghost.

So things are already pretty strange. But they’re about to get much stranger.

When Cass’s parents start hosting a TV show about the world’s most haunted places, the family heads off to Edinburgh, Scotland. Here, graveyards, castles, and secret passageways teem with restless phantoms. And when Cass meets a girl who shares her “gift,” she realizes how much she still has to learn about the Veil — and herself.

And she’ll have to learn fast. The city of ghosts is more dangerous than she ever imagined.

NYT bestselling author Victoria Schwab delivers a thrillingly spooky and action-packed tale of hauntings, history, mystery, and the bond between friends (even if that friend is a ghost . . .).

Its V E Schwab. What more is there to say. I need this book now!

The Dollmaker of Krakow by by R. M. Romero – 6th September

A timeless fantasy set in the Second World War that weaves together magic, folklore and history, perfect for fans of The Book Thief, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and Goodnight Mister Tom.

One night a little doll named Karolina comes to life in a toyshop in Krakow, Poland, in 1939 and changes the life of the gruff, broken-hearted Dollmaker. And when the darkness of the Nazi occupation sweeps over the city, Karolina and the Dollmaker must bravely use their magic to save their Jewish friends from a terrible danger, no matter what the risks. This powerful story is about finding friendship in the darkest of places and the importance of love in times of great pain.

This one was recommended to me by amazon after I read The Bear And The Nightingale by Katherine Arden and I it sounds really good. It sounds like it is going to have some Night Circus vibes and I am down for that. plus, it has a really pretty cover.

The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes by Ruth Hogan – 6th September

Masha’s life has stopped. Once a spirited, independent woman with a rebellious streak, her life has been forever changed by a tragic event twelve years ago. Unable to let go of her grief, she finds solace in the silent company of the souls of her local Victorian cemetery and at the town’s lido, where she seeks refuge underwater – safe from the noise and the pain.

But a chance encounter with two extraordinary women – the fabulous and wise Kitty Muriel, a convent girl-turned-magician’s wife-turned-seventy-something-roller-disco-fanatic, and the mysterious Sally Red Shoes, a bag lady with a prodigious voice – opens up a new world of possibilities, and the chance to start living again. But just as Masha dares to imagine the future, the past comes roaring back …

I read Hogan’s debut novel, The Keeper Of Lost Things a few months ago and really enjoyed it. So now I want to read this one as well. Simple as.

Vengeful

Vengeful by V E Schwab – 25th September

A super-powered collision of extraordinary minds and vengeful intentions–V. E. Schwab returns with the thrilling follow-up to Vicious.

Magneto and Professor X. Superman and Lex Luthor. Victor Vale and Eli Ever. Sydney and Serena Clarke. Great partnerships, now soured on the vine.

But Marcella Riggins needs no one. Flush from her brush with death, she’s finally gained the control she’s always sought–and will use her new-found power to bring the city of Merit to its knees. She’ll do whatever it takes, collecting her own sidekicks, and leveraging the two most infamous EOs, Victor Vale and Eli Ever, against each other once more.

With Marcella’s rise, new enmities create opportunity–and the stage of Merit City will once again be set for a final, terrible reckoning.

IT’S THE SEQUAL TO VICIOUS! I FREAKING NEED THIS BOOK NOW!

And that’s it. There are some really amazing sounding releases due out over the summer but I will be honest, most of the books that I am itching for aren’t going to be released till the autumn, so keep an eye out for my next Books That I Am Excited for post in October to see them. what books are you most excited for? Are there any that I should check out? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again very soon.
