Book Review: P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han

Hey Guys!

Another week has been and gone and that means that it is time for another book review! whoop, whoop! Today I am continuing a trilogy that I started a couple of months ago. Yep, I have finally picked up P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han. Let’s do this!

Well this book had me smiling like a fool on the train. there is something about these books that just makes me feel happy and I don’t know why.

I will openly admit that there isn’t a lot of substance to this trilogy. It is very light and very fluffy and very easy. I mean I got through the first book in just 2 sittings! Normally I don’t tend to read many books like this, I prefer fantasy and dystopian and really meaty books that I can sink my teeth into. And this trilogy is the exact opposite of that but I still love them. I love that they make me smile and laugh. And easy they are to read. I can just dip in and out of them whenever I want, and I can read 100 pages of it and feel like I have only just picked it up. I think sometimes we all need a light, fluffy read.

I was surprised by how much I liked this second book. I had heard a few mixed things about it and I can see why some people don’t like it, I know I wasn’t the biggest fan of some o the storylines, but I did still enjoy it. quite a lot actually. I will admit though that I did find the characters to be really annoying at times. Lara Jean, for example, infuriated me at times. Particularly right in the middle of the book I just wanted to grab her shoulders and shake her! I felt like she was intentionally making things difficult and putting obstacles in her own way. I don’t know. just, the way she handled the whole Gen situation really bugged me. It just felt a bit childish.

That being said I did like the introduction of characters like John. I really liked him. I do feel sorry for him, but I liked him. I am really hoping that in the finally book him and Lara Jean are friends. i just feel like they would be really good together, whether that be romantically or just platonically.

All in all, I did enjoy this book. I am definitely intrigued to see what happens in the finally book. I swear if Lara and Peter don’t end up together I will throw the book out the window.
