If you saw last month’s first impressions post, then you will know that in 2018 I am trying to branch out and wear more lipsticks and the likes. (long story short, I love the idea of lipstick but am never sure if it suits me or not so I am trying to force myself to wear it more so that I get used to seeing myself in it and hopefully start to like it on myself). I have already talked about the Barry M Liquid Lipstick (LINK) and today I am going to be talking about the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lip Glosses. Let’s go.
So I got three mini size TBC lip-glosses in my Tanya Burr Cosmetics Advent calendar last year, which was kind of perfect as it fit perfectly with my lip colour goal for 2018. I have only ever tried the nail varnishes from the brand (which I love) so I was really intrigued to see what I thought about these lip glosses. I have three shades (although I’m not sure if they were exclusive to the calendar or if you can just buy them). the first is Pink Fondant, which is a deep pinky nude colour. Personally I quiet like this shade, although I do wish the it was a slightly lighter shade. The next gloss is called Ice Queen and is a clear gloss with a hint of glitter to it. the final one is Cranberry Melt which is a deep red colour. This is probably my favourite of the three, although it is also the boldest and subsequently hardest to wear.
All three of the shades are super high gloss. They are so glossy and shiny. They are honestly beautiful. They also aren’t to sticky. Some lip-glosses that I have worn in the past are so sticky your lips practically stick together, these are not like that. yes, they do have a bit of stick to them, but that is pretty expected from a gloss. They actually feel quite nice on the lips. Not to heavy and not to drying. They do feel a bit wet all the time, but again, that is pretty expected from a gloss.
What I liked about them though is how they wear. They don’t rub off instantly. When I wear them I am not having to top it up every five minutes. I think part of this is because they are very pigmented. The colours are all very pronounced and vibrant. This means the even when they start to wear off, the colour is still there.
Overall, I do quiet like these lip glosses. I’m never too sure about glosses in general as I prefer matt finishes, but I do like these. They wear well and look nice. Plus, they aren’t too expensive. I will 100% be looking into getting some different shades, maybe something more nude and every day. Have you tried these? What do you think about them? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again very soon.
